What are you feeding Yourself? (Thanksgiving)

What an amazing time of year!  Thanksgiving represents a bounty of food and a gathering during which to feast!  As we break bread and share a meal with family and friends, let us ask ourselves this important question:

What am I feeding my soul?

In New England, November means it is time to batten down the hatches and prepare for the cold weather.  The food we eat all winter comes from warmer places.  It is easy to make a habit of buying food that has been shipped from warmer parts of the country or the world, particularly during our long winters.  But in the Spring, it is a blessing to re-align our spirits with our land...the land that we take pride in.  It is good for the soul...and it is good for our health from a standpoint of nutrition.  In fact, did you know that if you use honey it is best to use only honey harvested in your local community, meaning your city and town?  That is the truth about honey.  How much truer for all the food we eat?

CBA Group, upon discovering our group's desires and interests, are people who want to make an impact!

IMPACT.

Impact means taking action and seeing that action produce results.  When you look at the food you eat this Thanksgiving, consider where it came from.  Think of how it started.  It started like your faith...a seed...very tiny...needing nourishment (soil) and encouragement (sun) and energy (water) and inspiration (vitamin enrichment).  Consider how growing some herbs or a small garden could not only provide you with healthy food, but offers you the unique opportunity to watch something grow...something YOU created.  After all, we were given life, we were created.  And we all want to be like our creator...we want to create something!

~Happy Thanksgiving from Berta, Sam, Bob and AngelMarie~
